Udaba-Ekperi Community in Etsako Central LGA of Edo State has been submerged by the overflow of River Niger.
The residents and the aborigines of Udaba-Ekperi community are dire need of the attention of the local government, state government, federal government , as whereas as well meaning indigenes of Edo State and citizens of Nigeria to come to their aide , as their homes , properties and farmlands have been submerged by the overflow of River Niger.
Udaba-Ekperi Community is one of the Riverine Communities in Ekperi Kingdom and in Etsako Central LGA of Edo State. It is located along the River Bank of River Niger, which formed the RiverOrle or Alika River , which is a major source of fishing for consumption, for economic purpose, etc, for the community. The Community is also renown for Rice Farming, Vegetables Cassava, Groundnut, among other cash crops.
As at the time filing this report , about 90 percent of the community has already been submerged with houses, worship centers ,recreational centers , schools under water and farm produce destroyed, as the residents are moving in their numbers to neighboring communities within and outside of the local government.
